Graduate students are appretice scientists (research is their on the job training)
  1. Research advisor (Dr. Walker) and the student design a research project that will be the basis of the thesis work.
  2. Write Proposal (minimum goal in the first "methods" course)
  3. Present and defend proposal at convened research committee meeting.  (Deadline end of first year)
  4. Research (open ended deadline) depends on how hard the student works.
  5. This lab Adheres to the Thesis Proposal and Thesis Defense Policies of the  Proteomics/ Genomics Research Group
